BOOKING A PHOTO SESSION
- How long in advance do I need to book my photo session?
Generally it is advisable to book your session at least 1-2 weeks in advance, however sometimes I can "squeeze" you in earlier if my schedule will accommodate your request.
- What are your prices and fees for a photo session?
All my prices and fees are on the appropriate pages throughout my website.
- What do I need to do in order to confirm my appointment?
Photo sessions are only confirmed after receipt of your deposit.
- What do you charge for a deposit?
Depending if you are booking a portrait or a wedding, see contract & deposit policy for more details
- How can I pay for my deposit?
Deposits can be made by paying with a credit card from an invoice I send to your email address. Transaction is handled thru Paypal.
- How do I pay the final balance?
At the end of your photo shoot, you can either pay with cash, check, credit card or I can email you final invoice to pay with credit card.
PLANNING FOR YOUR PHOTO SESSION
- What should I wear?
Plan your wardrobe for the photo session like you would plan for any night/day out. Please make sure clothes are pressed and properly coordinated. For best results go with simple but elegant, keep jewelry to a minimum. If we are doing a couples or family shoot, having similar colors and styles will result in more flattering, coordinated look. Bring several outfits with you to change into. I have a whole page dedicated to clothing choices and colors, click here.
- Wardrobe Organization
Whenever possible, purchase new outfits and garments for the photo session, everyone like wearing new clothes and your personality will really come thru. Organize and bag outfits and accessories together so your session time is best spent and not wasted fiddling around.
- Suggested Minimums
Casual looks - a casual outfit that best features your image and enhances your body: low cut jeans, a well cut white shirt, a tank top, etc.
Dinner looks - classic, fashionable dresses, simple necklines: elegant is better than trendy; clean lines more striking than complicated clothing
Evening wear - classic styles, solid colors are best in a figure revealing style if desired
- Day of your photo shoot
Come prepared for your photo shoot, can't stress this enough. Do not go out the night before and "get your drink on" and stay out all night and expect to have great photos. I promise you will not like the results and extra retouching will cost you $25/Hour. Drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated and looking radiant and get plenty of rest; come refreshed and happy! If you are sick or otherwise feel bad simply call, text or email me to reschedule.
- What if I have a pimple or breakout the day of my shoot?
Pimples are easy to remove when I retouch your images and you won't even know it was there.
SELECTION OF FINAL IMAGES
- Who selects the final images for retouching?
This can happen in any of the three different ways. I can pick the best for you or you can select your favorites from a full set of watermarked proofs or we can do this together. The method is always your choice.
- How many final "select" retouched images do I get?
The number of images delivered varies depending on how many photos I shoot but you get them all.
- What is a "watermarked" image?
A "watermarked" image is one that will contain my transparent embossed logo or the words © Braden Cruise Photography.
- Why do you watermark the images in the proof set?
As you do not want anything but your best images presented, I too do not want un-retouched images in circulation. Therefore I watermark the proof set so that it is clear that these images are for selection purposes only and are not to be used as final product.
- Do you offer print packages?
I do not offer print packages, you will have the ability to order prints from your gallery. I can help you put together a custom album if you wish.
IMAGE FILES AND RETOUCHING
- What size are the retouched images?
The final "select" retouched images are 1600 pixels in the longer dimension
- Can I order extra retouched images?
Yes, extra retouching can be ordered at a price of $15/image
- How are the final select retouched images delivered?
They will be uploaded to your gallery.
- Can I get my proof set and retouched images on CD?
Yes, but there is an additional cost of $50 to cover preparation and shipping.
- Can I purchase a copy of the Hi-Res digital files or "Negatives"?
Yes, but that is under a separate agreement and involves an extra fee
- Do you delete the "rejected" image files?
No, all images taken are stored on an online backup
- Who owns the image files and the copyrights?
The photographer always retains ownership of all images as well as the copyrights to those images. You have shared rights to reprint for personal use only.
